Help Your Home Make a Lasting First Impression!

General Prep – Entire Home

  • Replace any burnt-out light bulbs.

  • Open all blinds and curtains to let in natural light.

  • Clean all windows and mirrors.

  • Hide personal items (toothbrushes, medications, laundry, toys).

  • Declutter surfaces (counters, shelves, nightstands, dressers).

  • Remove or neatly arrange cords and charging cables.

  • Hide trash cans, laundry baskets, pet bowls, and litter boxes.

  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.

  • Remove rugs or mats that can make floors look busy.

🛋️ Living Room / Family Room

  • Fluff pillows and fold throws neatly.

  • Clear clutter from coffee tables and side tables.

  • Tuck away remotes, game controllers, and cables.

  • Organize bookshelves with minimal décor.

🍽️ Kitchen & Dining

  • Clear countertops completely (leave 1-2 nice items max).

  • Put away dish racks, soap bottles, paper towels, etc.

  • Remove everything from the fridge exterior (magnets, notes, photos).

  • Clean appliances and polish surfaces.

  • Set the dining table with plates, napkins, and simple décor if desired.

🛏️ Bedrooms

  • Make all beds with matching bedding and fluffed pillows.

  • Store phones, tablets, & charging cables.

  • Clear nightstands and dressers except for minimal, tasteful décor.

  • Remove personal items and visible clothing.

  • Store laundry hampers and clutter in closets.

  • Remove items that may show under bed or furniture.

🚿 Bathrooms

  • Clear counters of toiletries and grooming products.

  • Close toilet lids.

  • Hang fresh, neatly folded towels.

  • Remove floor mats and scales.

  • Polish mirrors and fixtures.

🌴 Exterior & Curb Appeal

  • Mow the lawn, trim bushes, and sweep walkways.

  • Hide trash bins, hoses, and lawn tools.

  • Clean the pool and arrange pool furniture neatly.

  • Remove visible clutter from patios and balconies.

  • Turn on water features and outdoor lighting if possible.

📸 Final Touches before Shoot

  • Turn on all lights (including lamps, under cabinet lights, and range hoods).

  • Turn off TVs and computer screens.

  • Turn off ceiling fans (they appear as blurs in photos).

  • Secure or remove pets during the shoot.

  • Remove vehicles from the driveway and front of the home.

  • Leave the home during the shoot or remain in non-photo areas.
